Blower Motor Resistor

The blower motor resistor regulates fan speed by controlling the electrical current supplied to the heater blower motor. It allows the driver to select different airflow levels for precise climate control and cabin comfort. By stepping down voltage in controlled stages, the resistor ensures smooth transitions between fan speeds without overloading the electrical system.

When the blower motor resistor fails, one or more fan speed settings stop working, or the blower may only operate on maximum speed. This leads to poor cabin temperature control, reduced defrost capability, and inconsistent ventilation. Overheating, moisture ingress, and prolonged electrical load are the most common causes of resistor failure.
