The heater control valve regulates the flow of hot coolant into the heater core, allowing precise control of cabin temperature. By opening and closing based on climate control commands, it determines how much thermal energy enters the HVAC system. When the heater control valve fails, coolant flow becomes uncontrolled or completely blocked.
